Mingle-Forum install guide
5 MINUTES (or less) INSTALL:
- Download Mingle Forum
- Create a new page for your forum to display on
When creating you new page remember to turn off comments on it.
- Head to the page you just created for the forum, paste
[/mingleforum](without the / ) and save, (NOTE: It’s best to paste that under the HTML tab of your page editor) - Head to Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add New -> Upload
- Browse to the .zip file you downloaded and click open
- Click Install
- Click Activate
- You’ll now see a new admin menu called Mingle Forum
- Configure your Mingle Forum options
Private Messages (I would recommend turning this feature off and using my new Cartpauj PM Plugin instead as it is MUCH better!)
- Set a Skin
Skin it your way.
- Create your Categories and Forums
You must make a category and then a forum in order for it to show up and work.
- User Groups if wanted . Create a group then you add users to it here.
- Moderators configuration. Add whom you would like to oversee the Forum.
- DONE! It’s that easy
- NOTE: If upgrading from the old WP Forum or WP Forum Server Plugins you will need to re-set all settings and your skin. Don’t worry, I left most of the DB structure in place so you will NOT lose your threads or posts by upgrading to Mingle Forum.

Hi, is there a way to make a forum private while the whole site is open to general public?
Also, I don’t get if Cartpauj PM plugin is related to the forum or it’s a separate private messaging functionality?

You can set a forum to a group and assign user to it that you want there no one else will be able to access it.
Its separate puggin that the entire site can use
I have a problem after the install of the plugin…
The plugin is installed/configured/activated and the display page has been setup with the [mingleforum] code but when this page is viewed in the live blog all that displays is the [mingleforum] tab and not the forum.
What have I missed in the ‘easy’ setup? What can I do to verify that the forum plugin is working apart from seeing the setting pages in the admin dashboard?
I would appreciate any help with my setup problem.
May sound stupid but did you creat and catagories and topics for your Forum? Send me your url as well so we can look see
